Thanks James. It's licensed for 40,000 lbs. Filberts aren't nearly as heavy per volume as wheat, but heavier than grass seed.
Back in the 70's and early 80's my Dad used to haul wheat with this rig from Coburg, OR to Portland, OR, about 100 miles one way. Talk about a grind, it would take 4 hrs to make the trip loaded, a little faster on the way home. There wasn't near the traffic in those days, but with the weight limits of the time the truck and pup could haul almost what the eighteen wheelers where hauling. If I remember correctly his legal gross weight was around 57,000 lbs.
I would ride with him all the time and I was small enough I could stand on the bench seat and look out the front windshield. Things were sure a lot different then.
