NO WIRE BRUSH RON!
The chrome layer is very, very thin and a wire brush is WAY to abrasive as is scotch bright. You can't take the pits out, they are holes that have penetrated thru the plating.
I would just use a good chrome polish like 3m Chrome Polish and then take a ball of aluminum foil and scrub it across the surface. the alum will fill the small pits and you will hardly be able to notice them.
