Hy John53, in theory you can swap parts to turn your torque tube type transmission into an open driveshaft type, using the bigger truck transmission parts. The two transmissions are actually the same inside. As to the more speed, I assume you're going to switch to a higher speed differential gear set, if you're going to play with transmissions anyway, why not install an overdrive transmission of the appropriate size?
