I have to rebuild my engine. What I thought was a 216 babbitt motor for my 49 turns out to be a 1960 vintage 235 with matching period head and modern styled bearings, not dippers. The valve cover, however is not the flat engraved type with the bolt pattern at the base. Instead it has the rounded two bolt style found on the 216 motors. Were these covers interchangeable? The engine number is 3769716 (F82 GM 28) and the head number is 3836848 (GM 30).
