I had a local metal shop bend two pieces of 14 ga. steel to my specs. The two u-shaped pieces made the top and bottom. I put baffles in and welded in bungs for inlet tube, fuel pick-up, drain and vent tubes. Then I welded it all together. I need to pressure test it for leaks still. It is 28.5" X 20" X 14" making it about 32 gallons I think.
I was wondering if anyone knows why factory tanks (on new trucks) have a vent line from the tank to the filler neck. What is its purpose and do I need to add that or will the vents on the tank "box" suffice? Thanks!
