yes a 6 clyinder to a v8 bell housing is differnt to as much as the way it mounts i have a 55 second series i converted it to a 350 v8 i found a original v8 vell housing from a 56-57 truck that had the 265 in it and it let me set up my 350 in my 55 and im still running the 3 speed on the colunm in it too
