Tony, I'm going to be a bit a pain in your butt here. This place can be an incredible resource, BUT, you will get the most information when you "Speak" in clear legible sentences, use punctuation and take the time to formulate a question that can be answered. This format is tough enough when people CAN make out what you are trying to say. Try not to make it even harder.
Your first question relates to the more common pickups as well. You might look into the gallery pages for your year and see if indeed a '49 Chevy pickup has the driver's side cowl vent. (It does by the way). Later years did away with the vent. As for the next question, someone with more mystical powers will have to summon up an answer for you, because I don't have a friggin clue as to what your asking.:)
