I did find the right die to chase the threads. The problem seems to be that there will only be about three "good" threads holding the nut when I get the bearings adjusted correctly. I plan on getting two new nuts, set the bearings like the book says, and hope for the best. I think someone in Ole Punkin's past didn't have the bearings set right and it wore on the threads.
