In addition to what has been mentioned, there is a factory spring that attaches to the clutch fork and forward to the frame rail, to ensure the fork & rod do not become seperated, as well as, some resistance on the pedal. The rod has a shoulder on it and neither the rod, nor the wedge nut are threaded.
