Hi all, my name is Mike Jones. My grandfather bought this GMC new in Pinetop, AZ http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j391/toprawhide/oleblue2008.jpg He passed in 1974 and my Uncle took it home with him. My uncle passed several years later, and my dad got it and drove it home 4 hrs to SE Okla. I kept pestering my dad to give it to me so i could restore it, but he kept stalling. I was a Marine MSgt at the time, but to him I was just a kid ha ha.. finally he caved in and I drove from Dallas, TX and loaded it up in pieces onto a trailer and towed it home. 2 years of restoration later, I fired it up and have been driving it ever since. Until 10/20/2010 when the fan got into radiator. seems left motor mount on bell housing had worked itself loose, and the torque allowed it to jump up and to the right. going to order replacement this week. I have a 6 yr old granddaughter who now rides around with me and is just devastated because the ole truck is broke... I can remember riding with my grandpa at her age in the same truck. It is my hope that whoever gets it (family) when I'm one gone, will keep it running forever and hand it on down.
