If it is threaded and you need to clean up the threads with a thread chaser or tap here's a good tip. Put some grease on your thread chaser. Any loose stuff or metal chips will stick to the tap and not fall inside.
Go to your local NAPA. Tell them you need a vent for your rearend. They have some awesome catalogues to look through.
