I have evidence of fluid through both wheel seals and the pinion seal... after reading some posts on here (and thank God I did) I decided to look for this vent, which I had previously not encountered.

If this indeed is the vent, is there something missing?? Just a hole on the top of the shaft? Surly there must be some protection from elements that I don't have.
