What is your truck?
I have a '47 AD. It has a mount on each side of the cowl and 3 bolts hold on stalks that look loke antennae, with about a 5" round mirror on the end, waiting to get smashed off. The stalks are two piece, about 1" dia, and one fits into the other and telescopes. Its clamped by a bolt at the middle.
I'm restoring mine so I'll keep them, but really they are a period pice and I'd happily swap them for something better. i predict they will be useless.
