With all due respect to those who have praised EI, consider this one vote for points and condensor.
The cell phone was invented to call the tow truck when the EI failed!!! This, by the way, is the footsteps of experience!!!
I have two later vehicles which came equiped with EI that now are quite happy (and now quite reliable) with points and condensor.
Of course, you can also carry a couple of spare EI units with you.
