Steele recommends (and uses) Loctite Super Bonder 495 to bond the ends together. I used it on the windshield and back glass on my 38 as well as some firewall grommets that I didn't want to pull everything out to put new grommets in (split the grommet to get around the line then bond it back together). Steele sells window rubber either by the foot or already made up. The made up parts are bonded using 495. Excellent product.
