I've read all the links (no hyperlink intended) and found my engine to be built on April 26, 1960 and to be a 235ci with the 848 heads. Correct me if I'm wrong, the knowledge attained was from the following information:
Cast #: 3769716
Date Code: CON4 D260
Heads: 3836848
I'd like to repaint the engine. I have no idea if it has been repainted from it's original color, but I do know that it is not the right engine for the truck seeing as the truck is a 1957 3100. The current color is blue. Since I'm not sure what it came out of it is possible that it is the Blue Flame, which I believe was only installed in cars not trucks, and would've been blue.
My question is this, how can I determine if my engine is from a truck or car. Once I know this I should be able to narrow down the color options.
