I have a '49 or '50 1-ton frame that has a 14 bolt rear under it. So you can be sure it can be done... But without measuring this specific 14 its hard to be sure it will work easily.

The guy I got mine from said with the 14 bolt rear the 216 wasn't strong enough to keep the truck working the way he wanted it to.

I don't know what the gears are, but if your motor is weak and you haul loads you might want to think twice about the change in ratio.
