Denny, the leakdown test will indeed show a lot more that just a compression tester, but, the 235 is not a sophisticated engine such as the Lycoming aircraft engine and that much information is not necessary on the 'bolt engine. If it has enough compression to run and doesn't smoke a lot, it will be fine. The old 'bolts are pretty bulletproof so don't worry.
