It's strange the guy wouldn't bring it across the road for $100 more.
If I had a lot of money I would have liked to rent a building on each side of the road before where our local crusher is located at and put up big signs: "Stop Here First, We Pay More For Certain Vehicles" Especially years ago when the scrap prices were down and more vintage vehicles were available. That would be one way to beat them. Of Course we can always run Vehicles Wanted Ads, even today.
