I'd ask some more questions, is there any chance that another dealer like crenwelge mentioned could be helpful?

I've got a friend here that runs a scrap yard and if there is a "loop hole" in your yard's system perhaps he will fit?

That really is disturbing that they want to or will scrap Dayton adapters, I like them, and know of a couple other people looking as well.
