Sounds like my '38. I would say you got the wrong parts. The correct cylinders are NOT cheap. I landed two NOS cylinders on ebay for 1/4th the cost through the vendors but I had to wait a while for them to be listed. They don't show up on ebay every day. I also discovered that those listing them don't always know what they have (listing the RH as a LH and vice versa) so know what you're looking for.
