proper procedure: turn the key, stomp the pedal
.... no suprise if after a couple weeks the carb has evaporated it's charge, but it shouldn't need toooo much cranking to refill it - you could give it a shot of gas down the top if you want it to start faster .... in humid periods it may also be oxidizing the points a bit as well .... suggestion: drive it [or at least run it] more often
