The hardest part I found was putting the exhaust/intake manifold back on. The head is heavy and as someone mentioned keep the pushrods in order so they go back in the same spot.
You will probably have to scrape off bits of head gasket and try not to let any of the debris fall into the cylinders. I also ran a tap thru the head bolt holes just to clean them up. After its all together and running I would give it an oil change, won't hurt and its cheap insurance.
