Recently, I rebuilt my Carter W1. There is a spring that operates the accelerator pump which I do not believe belongs or at least was originally there (see the green box on the W1 carb pic pic below and excuse the nasty carb it was prior to the rebuild). Is this spring original? It seems to 'delay' the operation of the accelerator pump and cause a bog when the accelerator is revved quickly. In original carb pics I see (also original diagram of W1 below also with green box), it appears a hard linkage piece goes there instead. Anyone know for sure? If so, can I buy one or is it just easier to make. Thanks!
