For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 176 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 176 | O.K. I'll give it a try. The rear fender brace is attached to the bottom of the frame on my truck.
As for the fender dimensions, I will give each one to the extreme inside of the rolled edge of the fender. Also, I took a short straight edge to extend the plane of the bed side down to the fender dimension points you asked for.
Rear of fender just forward of brace attachment point measures on right fender 7-1/8 inches and left fender 7-1/2 inches. Middle of fender centered on the brace is 11-3/4 inches both sides. Front of fender at the center of the curve described by rear edge of fender. Right side measures 12 inches and left side measures 11-1/8 inches.
I didn't know they were so far off side to side, but this truck has been hit a time or two in it's life.
I am running 6.50-16 LT tires on stock rims. I see 3 to 3-1/2 inches between tire and fender all the way around. The tire is 30 inches in diameter at the horizontal and 6-3/8 inches wide at the tread.
I hope someone else better informed on the issue will chime in with tire/rim suggestions. If you have time, the forum archives are full ideas and I would be happy to supply any other measurments you want. | | |
