The question that comes to mind is: have you changed the front end to R&P or power steering? Typically the ones I've seen converted to a modern tilt setup have had this done and that is why the smaller aftermarket or tilt column wheels work. An AD w/o the power setup is much more difficult to man handle and why the larger wheel is needed as you no doubt are aware. But to answer you directly, I've not seen an original on a modern column but hopefully someone here has better knowledge than I about this. Very good question.

On ther same note I currently have an original 17" wheel on my 57' BelAir with modern PS and it is too big i.e., poor road feedback. The new replacement look-a-like 15" wheel looks better with the tilt column but the horn ring won't fit.
