Hopefully someone can help me, as I have been suffering with this problem for a while. I am short a car so my 1946 Chevy Stylemaster Sedan is my new daily driver for the time being. I drive 40 miles a day. The car has a 216, and three on the tree. I have been experiencing a very bad vibration in the rear between 60-65 MPH. Today I had a guy pull me over to tell me it looked like my wheels were going to fall off. When I got home I had my father come take the car out and I rode behind him. Basically, at any speed, when you hit a bump the rear axle jounce is horrible. You can see the axle literally vibrating up and down and its continuous. At higher speeds it takes a long time for this to stop happening. I am thinking the shocks are shot, But i have actually never seen anything this bad. What do you think?
