not sure how the lights would be wired to prevent the blinker function from feeding thru the hazard side, but the basic thing required would be the blinker + terminal wired via the ignition switch so it only has power when the key is on, and the hazard flasher + terminal wired to something that's not switched, hot all the time - which of course leaves you open to finding your battery run flat when something messes up
