| | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 2,557 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 2,557 | Jon,read this tech tip tie rods I used a 9/16" drill bit and drilled 1/8" to 1/4" deep with the drill.I then chucked the pieces up in my vise and heated with a torch,used a big punch and hammer to drive the balls out.make sure you use the straight threaded tie rod studs and not tapered.There is all kinds of info about this subject here.
