Wrenchbender, The points are right and is the timing. The carb is new as I figured I screwed up the original when I rebuilt it but even with the new carb the truck runs exactly the same. I sort of figured it must not be a carb problem now since the way it acted was exactly the same with either carb. I have just had the top of the carb off and I changed the float level a bit, and now it will run without being choked for a couple of minutes then just die out. I gave it some throttle and as the accelerator pump kicks in it would run but then just die out.
