Just last month I insalled 4 new shocks on my '50 1/2 ton. They are Monroe brand and I found them at NAPA. They fit perfectly and make my truck ride like a new one. Here's the part numbers and prices. Double check at the sales counter if they fit your '51, but my guess is they will........

Plan on having trouble removing the top nuts on the old shocks depending on how long they have been on. I'd swear mine were ORIGINALS based on how difficult it was to get them off!! I ended up having to cut the top studs off with an angle grinder because the nuts were totally frozen. Had to remove the entire mounting brackets on the rears, taking them to the vise and cutting the bottom studs off at the bench due to not enough clearance for the grinder between the shock and the brake drum. It was a few hours work for me only because of all the studs being frozen. Hope you have better luck than I did.
