I have a 1951 3/4 ton with 8 lugs that has the 4:10/1 gear ratio (I think) it is.

I also have a 1956 1/2 ton rear axle and front spindles.

Now the Questions, ..

1) What is the gear ratio in the 1956 axle?

2) Can I unbolt and replace the axle with the other without a major operation, and will the front spindles swap out the same?

I am sure someone out there has either done something simular, or given it a try.
