My '62 has two sets of key-hole mounting plates in the floor--one for the short middle row seat, and one for the full-width rear seat. My full width seat mounts in the middle just fine.
The guy I bought my truck from had a '61 Suburban, and didn't realize he had the same arraingement until AFTER he sold me the truck and the "spare" full-width rear seat he had for an extra $100.
He said "You can probably cut this one down to fit in the middle." I said "I think it'll fit as-is----here, watch..." and bolted it in place. He was sick when he realized it! He needed a full-width one for the middle of his '61, but was making due with the short one.
