A good place to start is with the throttle wide open the cable should be pulled out as far as it will go. If you have done all that research you probably found that the distance of the of the connecter from the center of the shaft is important also & the arc that it goes in. 1 1/8" in is max for the connector to the shaft center. If you have slack in the cable at idle something is wrong.
