| | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 23 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 23 | I have completed 1953 31oo chevy. Have 56 235 in. Starter sometimes clashes with flywheel. I remember these noises back when. My age is now given. The flywheel is damaged. The somewhat blunt end of what I call Bendix teeth is hitting fly/wh. and not carring thru,(engageing_. with stamp starter I should be able to force thru to flywheel before amps are applied via switch on starter with tapered teeth on starter. Do I need to randr starter and file, grind teeth to beter taper on starter. or flip fly/wh the only way
