Pitch the short pump buy the adapter for the early style pump. This will put the pump back to the corect place on the rad thus letting the fan pull air though the rad like it should. I've used both set ups and the adapter works the best. I'm currently running the adapter set up on a boom truck that gets the crap worked out of it with no heating problems at all.
