Well, Drain the oil from the transmission, Remove the side plate (drivers side of transmission) and look inside the transmission at the gears and such. CAREFULLY feel along the inside bottom of the transmission for metal filings, metal chips, etc. A small magnet would be safer to do this with. The caution here is the metal filings can be very sharp. There should be a magnet already inside the transmission (it's task is to collect the filings and parts to keep them from thrashing through the transmission.)

Based on the condition/amount of oil that came out of the transmission and the lookly feely in the transmission you should then post your findings here for further help.
