I am about to pull the trans. out of my 51,3100. It should be fairly easy as the engine is out and the body is taken off of it, it is just sitting there on the frame . I have got a few questions before I procede. I've been reading past posts on this subject so I hope I use the right terms . I removed the four bolts and pulled that retainer and the gasket back , eexposing the bell. I then slid the bell back exposing the u-joint. I took a punch and bent the ears on the retaing clip and am now ready the remove the 4 small bolts that hold the joint together. Firstly I think I will need two of those retaining clip when I reassemble it later, where can I buy these?? After I pull the joint apart will the rear half slip back into the tube?? Then will the front half be removed from the trans with one large bolt through its center?? As far as trans. mounts is the front of the trans just supported by the engine and the back supported by the two lower bolts onthe retaining ring that bolt to the crossmember?? If so is there supposed to be rubber there at all ??i have none. Antthing else I should know before I procede?? Thanks
