| | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 22 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 22 | Thanks Jerry, But are you sure it isn't the Jetaway? 1956 was the transition year from the regular Hydramatic to the Jetaway Hyrdamatic then in 61 it switched to the 2 speed aluminum case I think they nicknamed it a Slim Jim. Mine has the cast iron case and looks Identical to my 56 transmission besides the oil pan size is smaller and tail shaft is 4 inches shorter. The shop manual I have is for the 56 and gives me a very broad run down on how the linkage works not how to adjust it. I think the engineers didnt even know how to do it.
If the frame is Good then everything else can be fixed.
