I have a 41 gmc truck. I just took off the front fenders and sent out to the body shop, no photos at this time. The point is that there was "original" welting on both fenders where the front of the hood would close against the upper fender sheet metal which goes "upwards" toward the radiator. I would guess these pieces are 4-6 inches long and are made of the exact hood lace material. Doug
