Ok, I know some of this information is on the site in a lot of places, but wouldn't it be nice if it was just in one?
What I am asking... you got a transmission pulled and are replacing it for another? Take some measurements and/ or pictures and send em in.
Some useful information would be...
*Transmision type... 3 sp, 4 sp, auto, etc
*What it was found in
*case dimensions... height, length, width, weight...
*length of input shaft
*spline count of input shaft
*diameter of front bearing retainer
*spline count and diameter of output shaft
*pto yes/no
*distance from front of transmission to center of shifter
*gear ratios
*length of front bearing retainer
*mounting bolt pattern
*etc
You got the transmission out at the side of the barn... measure it! The physical dimensions are what is most critical in a transmission swap.
I know what your thinking... the T-5 hybrid is the best choice transmission, so this is just a waiste of time. Well, we might be able to come up with a transmission swap that goes in a little bit eazier than that T-5. At the very least solve some of those pesky clearence issues on that swap.
Personally, I want to use a NV4500 in my swap as they are bulletproof, but don't want to spend all the money on one to find IT DON'T WORK!
So please start sending in some measurements, some Stovebolters will thank you for it
