The factory GM pump puts out about 1300psi and the Toyota (and Mustang II rack) operate on about 900psi. I have done both and the best way that I have found to regulate the pressure is by adding shims (small washers) to the pump control valve. The kits are available through speed shops or aftermarket suppliers. The last kit I bought was made by Bill's Hot Rod Parts in So Cal. Fred
