replaced the main and rod bearings this morning along with the oil pump. Plastigaged the mains and they were within tolerance. Primed up the oil pump. Cranked it up, the motor ran great with very good oil preasure. Took the truck for a test drive then checked everything over again. looks like the main and rod bearing swapped worked out great. And I did not need the shims that were sent with the main bearings. Advance auto sells the plastigage for about $4.00 . Thanks for all the help and advice.
