I say enjoy it the way you want, and change what you want to enjoy it.
I feel if you limit what you do with it, for the fear of how it affects the value you will also limit your enjoyment.
If it was a limited production vehicle, very rare model, the thought of no changes to it would certainly come into play. Is your truck in that category ? Money can't always provide enjoyment.
