Actually pumps ran faster in the 50's than they do now. Federal law now puts a 10 Gal Per Minute restriction on dispensers for safety. Also, the age of the gas station does not make much difference. The same Red Jacket submerged pumps are used as were 25 years ago. The gallons per minute depends on how recent the filters have been changed in the dispenser. E10 tends to plug filters much quicker than clear gasoline.
