I am in the middle of a complete frame off restore and I just started the engine for the first time yesterday which was pretty exciting ( 1952 235). The only wiring I have done is the wiring for the coil, distributor, starter, and alternator (converting it to 12v). Well, the engine was running, the alternator was charging, then I went to crank it again to time out the engine and the starter is dead. The battery has full charge and when I send power to the starter, the battery cable just jumps and heats up. What's going on?
