Once the hydraulic clutch is working right, it's smooth and relatively trouble-free. If you want to upgrade to dual-line brakes, try using a clutch master cylinder from a mid-1960's Dodge pickup. It's a single-chamber master cylinder that's about the right diameter to work well with the original clutch slave cylinder. If you plan to stay with the V-6 engine, the hydraulic clutch is going to be a necessity since the throwout fork goes into the bellhousing on the passenger's side, and it would be nearly impossible to adapt mechanical or cable clutch linkage to it.
