My '54 1/2 ton has new bed sides and I need to place the left side mount tire bracket prior to painting. In looking at the mounting bracket I can see that the tire mount surface is 9 7/8" out from where it mounts on the side of the bed. I can also see that the bracket has holes on the top so it is clear that it not only bolts to the side of the bed but also bolts to the top horizontal sheet metal (the lip). Does anyone know the measurement from the front of the bed to the center of the wheel mount?
