No problem running solid lifters in a block with the oil gallery for hydraulics, but you MUST run a solid lifter camshaft, also. The valve clearance would have to be run at .004" or so to run solids on a hydraulic shaft, and adjusted about once a week otherwise. There's a major difference in the lobe shape on a solid lifter shaft.
