I'm with Pete52 on this one. Its gas tank sealant that the gas has finally softened and it is clogging your filter. I would never ever put anything but gas in a gas tank. With these modern fuels with many additives you never can tell what is happening to the sealant. E85 and straight ethanol contain alcohol and can dissolve a lot of stuff including sealant.
